There was a special feeling in the air in Pomona on Friday night. In a city that’s known for the neighboring Glasshouse restaurants that house shows from time to time, this night was different. St. Lucia and Two Door Cinema Club were coming to town.
Friday night was supposed to be Capital Cities’ first appearance on the tour but their schedule had them in Philly. So, that meant St. Lucia had to warm up Two Door Cinema Club, one of the biggest acts to come to
This came across our inbox yesterday. It’s been on repeat enough that we can post it now. Brooklyn-based St. Lucia have unveiled their video for their electric song, “Elevate.” The video comes in preparation for their forthcoming full-length debut When The Night due out October 8.
The band is straight out of Neon Gold which, if you’ve followed us closely would know that, generates some of the best bands from the East Coast.
St. Lucia is kicking off their tour with former touring mates, Two Door Cinema Club, on October 2nd.
Last week, Two Door Cinema Club dropped a teaser for a song to their upcoming EP. At the time, there was no name to the teaser, but just recently they revealed the name, “Changing of the Seasons. ”
Just a quick tidbit, if you actually searched for the teaser song from a Windows Phone using the baked music search (Search button, then Music Search a la Shazam), then you would have been able to see the song/album artwork (top of this post) and name
Here’s a sweet rendition of Bruno Mars’ “Treasure” by Two Door Cinema Club. The cover was done on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge for Sara Cox and it’s pretty fucking amazing. Two Door Cinema Cover, I mean, Club have previously covered Mumford & Sons and a few other bands.
It’s that time again. It sends some into a feverish sweat, others into convulsions of excitement and for fragile people like myself, into anxious breakdowns. Yup. Hottest 100 voting time.
Australia’s leading alternative radio station, Triple J, has launched its annual countdown again; the biggest music democracy to rule the airwaves. Citizens from both Australia and around the globe are invited to pick their top ten tracks from the year just gone, 2012. And, my my, what a task it is.
Whilst voting, I greedily selected an abundance of beloved tracks, only to realise that I had forty tracks too many. The most difficult part lay there in, with me carefully and painfully extracting my absolute favourites. Keyboards were hit, headaches formed and tears shed. Here are the results.
- Ball Park Music – Surrender
One of my favourites from their sophomore album, Museum, this sweeping song is simply swell, *alliteration fistpump*.
- The Black Keys – Little Black Submarines
Seeing this performed live was an absolutely breath taking experience that I will never forget. This band can do no wrong.
“Sun” is the second single taken from Beacon. Other than being lost at sea, the visuals are just like every other TDCC video: you have no idea what’s going on, but it’s still a party.

We’ll have a show review of their performance when they come to LA later this month.
Two Door has released the visuals to their newest single, “Sleep Alone.” “Sleep Alone” is the first single off of their forthcoming Beacon album due to come out September in the US.
There are two things that will always remain constant on this blog: My love for Eliza Doolittle and the non-stop listening to Two Door Cinema Club. If you watched Two Door Cinema Club perform at Bonnaroo via Youtube like me or were at the show, you may have caught two new songs that will debut in TDCC’s next album.
