St. Lucia at Fox Theater Pomona, CA

There was a special feeling in the air in Pomona on Friday night. In a city that’s known for the neighboring Glasshouse restaurants that house shows from time to time, this night was different. St. Lucia and Two Door Cinema Club were coming to town.

Friday night was supposed to be Capital Cities’ first appearance on the tour but their schedule had them in Philly. So, that meant St. Lucia had to warm up Two Door Cinema Club, one of the biggest acts to come to

Video: St. Lucia – “Elevate”

This came across our inbox yesterday. It’s been on repeat enough that we can post it now. Brooklyn-based St. Lucia have unveiled their video for their electric song, “Elevate.” The video comes in preparation for their forthcoming full-length debut When The Night due out October 8

The band is straight out of Neon Gold which, if you’ve followed us closely would know that, generates some of the best bands from the East Coast.

St. Lucia is kicking off their tour with former touring mates, Two Door Cinema Club, on October 2nd.

The Knocks – “Modern Hearts” ft. St. Lucia

The Knocks St. Lucia Modern Hearts

The Knocks and St. Lucia together have to make for one of the best records of the year, undoubtedly. St. Lucia have been delivering on all the hype from 2012, but they this connection with The Knocks is probably one of the finest gems from the band.

Easily, The Knocks make any song a pleasure to listen to. They stick to what they do best and it shows song in and song out.

This past month we’ve been to plenty of shows: from watching bands play in the Culture Collide Festival to free local shows and even some Bombay Bicycle Club, but there’s one show in particular we were looking forward to: Two Door Cinema Club with Friends and St. Lucia. Two Door always put on a good show — with all the singing, and dancing in the crows. As fun as their show can be, we wanted to see the level of badass-ness Friends could reach in their own set.

Friends isn’t your typical female-fronted band. They’re composed of three chicks and two dudes. Having never of head them before, you’d probably think they’re a cover band mostly filling in with 80s’ pop tunes. This Brooklyn-based band has its cool funk stemming from their very cool lead songstress, Samantha Urbani.

File this under “Mood-setter: Party Starter.” Neon Gold records has debuted Xaphoon Jone’s first hit off his forthcoming Xaphoon Jones Volume 3 mixtape. Xaph spins St. Lucia’s “We Got It Wrong” (which Xaphoon also put his twist on previously),  coupled with  the Madeon remix of “Que Veux Tu” by Yelle to create an insanely-danceable tranced disco smash.

After working with Ellie Goulding, you know he’s got some awesome tracks in store for us this summer. Check out some of the other crazy hits Xaph has created HERE.

Neon Golds is introducing a new signing to their record label, St. Lucia. They’re dropping his EP in March and a full-album later this year. First, they’ve introduced a few remixes to St. Lucia’s “We Got It Wrong.”

Is there such a thing as a beat masacre? Xaphoon’s crazy abilities to spin a record into something otherworldly is truly more than a talent. Whatever he uses to get juiced up for a remix, give a dose to other musicians and the world will be a better place.
