Mixtape: Lil Wayne – Sorry For The Wait

True to his stature, Lil Wayne goes hard on every beat. With production not being at its best, admittedly, Wayne sets a smooth flow of raps  in Sorry For The Wait which is a precursor to the much-anticipate The Carter IV album.

For now, Weezy fans will settle for tracks with Lil B and others.

Lil Wayne – Grove St. Party Freestyle feat. Lil B

For those who have visited the site normally know how much I dislike Lil B and, well, mainstream (c)rap like Lil Wayne. But, here we are with Lil Wayne’s new single off Sorry For The Wait. The track features a verse from Lil B.

Editor’s Note: Okay, I went a little overboard. I don’t think Lil Wayne is crap music. I’m just not in the majority of hip-hop fans that like him. I do like about three Weezy tracks. With Lil B, he’s famous so he must be doing something right? So

Our love for Generationals has been growing ever since we first saw them live opening up for Two Door Cinema Club almost a year ago. We posted their Actor Caster album back in March, and today they reward us with a free WP courtesy of Park The Van. Included in the free EP are a few remixes and a new tune from the New Orleans-based band.

My favorite track is “You Got Me” which I would hope some rapper would put their 16 bars over the beat because it would sound so

New MP3: Jacuzzi Boys – “Cool Vapors”

Jacuzzi Boys, a surf-rock and pop band complete with guitar chords that’ll leave your ears begging for more, have introduced their first single off  their second full-length album, titled Glazin’. Their first track is called “Cool Vapors” that has nothing cool about it, it’s filled with youthful fire.

Glazin’ is due out in August.

Have you ever realized there’s always one song/artist that you play throughout the week or weekend? It just gets stuck in your head, right? At least, that’s the case for me. This whole last week was Gotye’s “Somebody I Used To Know.”

This time around, Monarchy’s “Maybe I’m Crazy” takes the award for non-stop plays. This single is off their upcoming album Around the Sun which is now available for per-order on iTunes.

Shoutout: Remix The Video

I had passed up on this song earlier thinking this was a mix by someone else since this seemed like an unlikely duo. I was wrong. These two go together so well it might become my favorite song for the Summer.

Colbie struts her pop sound so well with the Chi-town rapper in Common. “Favorite Song” is a track off Colbie Caillat’s forthcoming album, All For Me, due out on Tuesday.  Meanwhile, Common’s new album will be due out later in the Fall.

Kowalski – ‘The Great Outdoors’

Everybody’s Stalking posted this gem up a few days ago but I am just now receiving it due to Two Door Cinema Club having posted it on their Facebook page. Kowalski is a band from Northern Ireland with an indie pop sound similar to that of  The Postal Service and Phoenix — per ES.  The ‘Outdoors’ single is being released on Everybody’s Stalking on August 22nd.

Interesting note: Apparently, Paddy Baird, the drummer from Kowalski, is a brother of Kevin Baird from Two Door Cinema Club. Sweet.

New Track/Video: Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know

Have you ever labeled a song “Amazing?” That’s exactly what Gotye’s track “Somebody That I Used To Know” is. The telling of a devious ex who stooped so low to become just somebody that you used to know.

“Somebody That I Used To Know”  features Kimbra and is from the Gotye album Making Mirrors due to be released July 11, 2011.

If the lyrics don’t remind you of that ex, then check the video for the cool visuals.

Can someone do body art on me? I don’t have great physique but, hmm, yeah I have no incentive.

Be sure to check out “Eyes Wide Open” as well by Gotye.
