Two Door Cinema Club - Changing of the Seasons

Last week, Two Door Cinema Club dropped a teaser for a song to their upcoming EP. At the time, there was no name to the teaser, but just recently they revealed the name, “Changing of the Seasons. ”

Just a quick tidbit, if you actually searched for the teaser song from a Windows Phone using the baked music search (Search button, then Music Search a la Shazam), then you would have been able to see the song/album artwork (top of this post) and name

This past month we’ve been to plenty of shows: from watching bands play in the Culture Collide Festival to free local shows and even some Bombay Bicycle Club, but there’s one show in particular we were looking forward to: Two Door Cinema Club with Friends and St. Lucia. Two Door always put on a good show — with all the singing, and dancing in the crows. As fun as their show can be, we wanted to see the level of badass-ness Friends could reach in their own set.

Friends isn’t your typical female-fronted band. They’re composed of three chicks and two dudes. Having never of head them before, you’d probably think they’re a cover band mostly filling in with 80s’ pop tunes. This Brooklyn-based band has its cool funk stemming from their very cool lead songstress, Samantha Urbani.

“Sun” is the second single taken from Beacon. Other than being lost at sea, the visuals are just like every other TDCC video: you have no idea what’s going on, but it’s still a party.

We’ll have a show review of their performance when they come to LA later this month.

There are two things that will always remain constant on this blog: My love for Eliza Doolittle and the non-stop listening to Two Door Cinema Club. If you watched Two Door Cinema Club perform at Bonnaroo via Youtube like me or were at the show, you may have caught two new songs that will debut in TDCC’s next album.

There is no denying that Two Door Cinema Club is my favorite band. I talk about them all the time and I have an uncanny bad habit of trying to compare every new indie rock band with the Irish band.

Two Door have been touring like crazy this whole year and have been talking about going in to a cave once they’re finished with their current tour slated to end next month. Along their tour shows they’ve been playing a new track or two that will go into their next album. I absolutely have no idea if they will master some of their old, unreleased tracks and put them into a new album–which would be amazing.

So, in honor of them finally being able to go off into the studio without the worries of having to play yet another show, I have compiled some of their old tunes found on Youtube and some of them playing new songs that I’m hoping will be in their new album.

I just want a little more than Tourist History right now and these are some of my favorites. I have included some tracks from their days before Tourist History, songs that were on Tourist History but in international CDs, and new but un-mastered tunes. There are a few more here and there but the quality isn’t good enough to post.

“Kids” is a track off the Japanese version of Tourist History and is undoubtedly my favorite track outside of the whole original EP.

We brought you the original just a few weeks ago when the Two Door Cinema Club had supported them on their Facebook page. Kowalski had actually been TDCC’s supporting act during their UK tour and now TDCC is returning the favor by jumping on the band’s hit and putting their own spin on it.

The remix doesn’t differ too much from the original but you can definitely sense a TDCC vibe with it. It’s always a dance party with this band. You can get the single, along with the remix, on
