It’s that time of year again. No, not the holiday spirit, but the blogosphere spirit where everyone turns in their top albums of the year list. We’ve never been one to make lists. Hell, we’re not really too deep into the whole “album” spirit. With that in mind, we’ve created a list of some of our top singles of this year. There are obviously plenty others that we love, but most of them are here because we posted about them on the site. Of course we love the Adeles, Florence and The Machines, and Radioheads of the 2011 music year. It’d be crazy not to. Check out some of our favorite tracks of 2011:

M83 – “Midnight City”

Gotye – “Somebody That I Used To Know”

Penguin Prison – “Don’t Fuck With My Money”

Monarchy – “Maybe I’m Crazy”

Keep going, there’s more:

Our love for Generationals has been growing ever since we first saw them live opening up for Two Door Cinema Club almost a year ago. We posted their Actor Caster album back in March, and today they reward us with a free WP courtesy of Park The Van. Included in the free EP are a few remixes and a new tune from the New Orleans-based band.

My favorite track is “You Got Me” which I would hope some rapper would put their 16 bars over the beat because it would sound so

New Album: Generationals – “Actor-Caster”

The New Orleans duo is  back at it again with a new album, and this time they’re allowing a free stream of the entire album. The album is an entire rock-out, dance party, and joyride all in one  thumping album. Your ears will fill with joy and you won’t stop playing every tune.

Well, when they win, they win. What are you waiting for? Check out the album from the link below!

The first time I ever heard of this band was when they opened for Two Door Cinema Club at the Music Box. Even though I wasn’t familiar with their music, I really enjoyed their show. I would definitely check them out again. They’re actually fairly new. Their album Con Law was only released in February of 2009. So far, I really like their music. I’m looking forward to another album.
