Last week, Irish band Two Door Cinema Club hit up the Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform some goodies. They had mentioned that they would play a mysterious cover. That cover ended up being a Mumford & Sons’ ” The Cave.” I’ve heard many covers of this track and this has to be one of, if not, the best. A year ago, Ellie Goulding did an exceptional cover of “The Cave,” but Two Door is my favorite band so there’s a little bias there, but still. Check it out:

Another tune from the Arctic Monkeys’ forthcoming album, Suck It and See, has hit the waves and it sounds pretty much amazing. There’s nothing better than a peak of the upbeat indie-pop displayed in “Reckless Serenade” that got the band famous in the first place.

I feel like I won’t be getting this track out of my head for a while. Suck It And See comes out on June 7th, so make sure you cop it and jam with us.

Matt Pond PA – “Love To Get Used”

Matt Pond PA is back with another soulful, catchy song to make Spring even more pleasant. Matt Pond PA’s latest EP, Spring Fools, is easily one of Matt’s best song in recent years. “Love To Get Used” premiered a few weeks back but the track is still getting plays on our iTunes. With Austin-based singer Ariel Abshire helping complete duet-iful track (I suck at making up words, don’t I?), there’s nothing better to vibe to right now.

Be sure to check out and download Spring Fools on their Bandcamp.

Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All is a force to be reckoned with. They’re dropping some of the dopest gems of the year. Whether you think their music is trashy and demonic or creative and Straight F*cking Dope, they’re everywhere now. As Goblin is set to drop on May 10th, Tyler and, fellow OFWGKTA member, Frank Ocean combine to make “She” an awesome tune on a sexual crusade.

We can chill and I can act like I don’t wanna fuck
You can tell me all your problems like I really give one
But I give

New Artists on the Rise!

Out of all the advantages of having your very own music blog, the biggest is being exposed to all of the dope music that’s out there. Artists send me links, bands send me promos, and other blogs send you awesome new music as well. It’s also pretty cool when bands and artists talk to me via email about random stuff. I’ve received some pretty whacky emails but it makes my day. But, for the most part, I don’t have time to listen to everyone’s tracks or read their bios. Though, I’d like to give back to some of the up-and-coming artists who have shown us love — and to those who just want their tracks up on the site. So, I’ve compiled a few artists who should definitely be given a look. Check ’em out:

Stray Kites – Misanthrope

An indie-folk band whose second LP will be released later this year, Stray Kites has all the makings of a well-rounded band. Check out their latest single via their Bandcamp:

Nick Carter – “Falling In Love Again”

There’s nothing like bringing back a few childhood memories in the Back Street Boys. Even better, having Nick Carter release his second solo-project — and first in eight years — entitled I’m Taking Off on May 24. More good news? Nick Carter will be touring with the Back Street Boys this summer. Of course, the best news is listening to Nick’s latest single, “Falling in Love Again.” Carter, who co-wrote every track on his forthcoming album, has put together an album that includes dance tracks to love songs and “Falling in Love

There’s something to the original track by Young the Giant that has me begging for more, but TDCC puts a little of that Irish goodness the band is known for to answer my call.Young the Giant recently finished their epic US tour and the band has left many fans with eargasms.  Check out the remix by Two Door Cinema Club and the original after the jump and let us know which one is better.

The Shins Are Back!

After 2 years of absence, The Shins will be returning to the stage. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m stoked about this. They will be playing at San Francisco’s, Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival, which is set to take place on August 12th-14th. The festival will also feature acts from well-known bands such as: Arcade Fire, Muse, MGMT, The Black Keys and many more great bands. I’ve already got the tickets, hotel room, and the friends to go to this 3-day festival with me; all we need is for August to be here already!
