Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros – “This Life”

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros have just premiered their new song, “This Life.” The song is from their forthcoming self-titled album due out July 23rd in the US and July 29th everywhere else.

“These songs mean everything to me,” said frontman Alex Ebert who produced the album. “It’s the rawest, most liberated, most rambunctious stuff we’ve done.”

New: Nolita View – “Alive”

Nolita View Alive EP

One of my favorite bands since starting this blog, Nolita View, have released the first single to their new EP called “Alive.”

The new EP will be a 5-song collection that will be released later this month.

Nolita View have consistently brought out some good tunes. Last year’s “Monster” track really solidified them as a band to watch out for.

In preparation for his first full-length album, The Light Within, to be released on May 14th, New York-based singer-songwriter Jared Saltiel has released a new single and a B-side to hold us over. Much like his work on his two previous EPs, Holy Grail Blues and The Moon, Mary, and Me show off Saltiel’s unique blend of style, resulting in intricate and idiosyncratic songs that are at once impressive and undeniably catchy.

Fresh off premiering their new track at Coachella, Disclosure officially released “You and Me” earlier today in the UK.

“You and Me” brings along Eliza Doolittle providing the vocals that everyone has come to love. The song is similar to many of Disclosure’s previous tracks but may very well be their best yet.

Eliza Doolittle is wrapping up her sophmore album. She recently released a teaser song called, “Don’t Call It Love When It’s Really Life.”

The Knocks – “Modern Hearts” ft. St. Lucia

The Knocks St. Lucia Modern Hearts

The Knocks and St. Lucia together have to make for one of the best records of the year, undoubtedly. St. Lucia have been delivering on all the hype from 2012, but they this connection with The Knocks is probably one of the finest gems from the band.

Easily, The Knocks make any song a pleasure to listen to. They stick to what they do best and it shows song in and song out.

Having been off the site for a month now, it’s good to get back to listening to great bands. I’ve been waiting to post this delight of a band for some time now as their new tracks contain an easy-listening, yet hard-hitting rage of tunes.

We Are Falcon, the London-based indie folk band, released their self-titled EP March 21st with their two biggest hits being “Second Go,” and “Fever Nova.” Each song is a delicate blend of folk and crafted rock. “Second Go” is a hard-hitting track where the vocals are the diamond of the song. It’s literally my favorite mix of vocals and drum/bass from an indie band since PK’s “Berelain,” but in different taste.

Meanwhile, “Fever Nova” brings in a unique sound. It’s raw. It’s hard. And It’s awesome. It’s the best thing about We Are Falcon: edginess coupled with the perfect mix of vocals and crated bass.

Album Review: Nantes’ ‘BeingsBeing’

BeingsBeing Before you start reading our review, go below and start playing Nantes’ “Avid.” Let the music sink in.

Nantes, a five-piece band from Sydney, have an uncanny way of becoming to a soundtrack-like tune in whatever 3-minute track you choose. Lead singer David Rogers is the defining voice of Nantes; with vocals that becoming a driving force of the synth-and-drum duo behind it.

“Avid,” the lead single of BeingsBeing, couldn’t be any more of an eargasm. With past hits such as “Fly” and “Charlie” from their self-titled debut EP, they’ve cultivated their sound to a much more rich and of hipnotic sounds. Having had a ton of success from their EP, you’d expect Nantes to hit each bass-and-drum wave a bit hard – sure enough, “Drones” and “Unsatistfy” leave you, well, more than satisfied.

I’ve been selfishly holding back on posting this remix because of just how good this is. Though, it may have been because I kept playing the song over and over again. Formerly known as KO-KO. Pacific Air have been killing it with their EPs and remixes. We caught them live in Santa Ana the Griffith Observatory and they’re better than advertised. These SoCal mates hooked up on their touring mates’, Ra Ra Riot, latest hit, “When I Dream;” off the band’s album which came out this month. My favorite part was at the 2:50 mark onward. It just felt like my ears were on a cloud basking in the greatest of sounds.
