The hip-hop/electronica GA-based group is out with their new mixtape “$Free.99.” I’ll be honest, I didn’t know much about this group until Hoodie Allen tweeted that he’s a featured on one of the tracks. With that in mind,  I don’t have much to say about this group other than I’m digging their music.

So that I wouldn’t spam you guys, I tried to fit in both the mixtape and the track that Hoodie Allen posted on one page.

Check out “Dammit” and Like them on Facebook to download their entire mixtape for free:

SoCal Artist: Dante Vs. Zombies

Yes, I’m stalking you.

After a long week at work and a kidney infection, I started getting back on track with the usual routine. I began by asking myself,” How is the music scene back home?”(Since I’m stationed in New Mexico) The answer came from a good friend of mine; That answer was Dante Vs. Zombies. I know it can’t really define all the bands out there but they certainly have set a mark in my book.

Based out of Echo Park, Dante Vs. Zombies was formed in 2009 after a year their previous band Starlite’s last show. They have performed

Take a ‘Trip’ With Vacationer

“I need a trip.A trip is what I need,” and that’s what I received. The band could not have said it any better.I’m not going to lie, i’m pretty glad I discovered this band. This week has been way too long for me and I found my escape when I saw the music video of their song ‘Trip’ Even though ‘Trip’ is the only song they have out; I can’t wait to hear the rest of their music. I’ve been in contact with the band for a couple of days now and they mentioned

The GTW (Greater Than Wealth) is a 21-year-old Nigerian-American musician from Chicago. His music is in between a Musiq Soulchild and Common-esque sound. This is his second visual off his debut mixtape, Don’t Smoke The Cigarette. If you dig this track, check out his Bandcamp to download the mixtape. Otherwise, you’re a fool!

New Artists on the Rise!

Out of all the advantages of having your very own music blog, the biggest is being exposed to all of the dope music that’s out there. Artists send me links, bands send me promos, and other blogs send you awesome new music as well. It’s also pretty cool when bands and artists talk to me via email about random stuff. I’ve received some pretty whacky emails but it makes my day. But, for the most part, I don’t have time to listen to everyone’s tracks or read their bios. Though, I’d like to give back to some of the up-and-coming artists who have shown us love — and to those who just want their tracks up on the site. So, I’ve compiled a few artists who should definitely be given a look. Check ’em out:

Stray Kites – Misanthrope

An indie-folk band whose second LP will be released later this year, Stray Kites has all the makings of a well-rounded band. Check out their latest single via their Bandcamp:

There’s something to the original track by Young the Giant that has me begging for more, but TDCC puts a little of that Irish goodness the band is known for to answer my call.Young the Giant recently finished their epic US tour and the band has left many fans with eargasms.  Check out the remix by Two Door Cinema Club and the original after the jump and let us know which one is better.

Mixtape: G-Eazy “The Outsider”

As a music blogger, I go through tons of music from artists and bands that either email or tell me to check them out via Twitter. I appreciate that, by the way. Most of the time the rappers can’t rap, the singers can’t sing, and the bands just suck. But, the other day, I spotted some gold. I’m a sucker for hip-hop artists sampling indie in a Chiddy Bang-esque way. G-Eazy puts the West Coast hip-hop style in an East Cost form. Just imagine Pac Div and a mellow Pharrell.
It’s easy

Countdown to Coachella: Cults

Cults is one of those groups that have you hooked from first listen. This New York duo has the backings of frontwoman Madeline Follin’s vocals and Brian Oblivion to go with the edgy but cool teen pop sound. Cults has been making a lot of noise in the music scene as they recently signed to Columbia Records, and performed a gig at SXSW.

What I love about Cults is that a year ago, they were just making music for friends — with no type of internet buzz. Seriously, that’s dope. Maybe this whole music site that was supposed to be a joke will land me a job with MTV! or something a year from now. Well, take a listen to CULTS and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with ‘5os pop sound that makes you want to take pictures of two gummy bears kissing each other. Okay, that was random.

Cults will be playing on Day 2 of the Coachella Festival. Check out their latest track entitle “You Know What I Mean,” and be sure to download their EP after the jump:
