London duo Disclosure pair up with another London duo in AlunaGeorge for a new single in “White Noise.” AlunaGeoge consists of Aluna doing vocals and George in production. Aluna lends her voice in this minimal-electro pop tune that’s due out on March 24.
I wasn’t really feeling Peace and their Delicious EP; it probably had something to do with the fact that they were just another four-piece Vampire Weekend-wannabe English indie guitar band. But then they released their song Wraith (the fact that it was produced by Arctic Monkeys producer, Jim Abiss, was probably something to do with my change of heart).
Their debut album (title still to be confirmed) will be released March 25th, but luckily Wraith was released on the 13th of January on iTunes and I for one will have this on repeat for days.
Give the song a listen. You’ll start to get into their more Californian beach vibe and realize there’s more to them than being a standard British boy band.
The return of Justin Timberlake, people. JT makes his comeback and brings along Jay-Z for “Suit & Tie.” The track is produced by Timbaland.
Here’s another gem from 2am Club. They’ve been getting better and better. From their days of singing and trying a little too hard to rap (not in a bad way), they’ve been able to find a balance in their hip-hop/R&B style. “Mary” was a good step toward the group becoming more prominent, and now I think they’ve really been able to create their own distinct sound.
Ra Ra Riot’s Beta Love is gearing up to be something special. “Dance With Me,” the third track off their forthcoming album, is their synth-fill dance tune highlighting their new cello-less sound. Beta Love is out January 22nd.
Here’s a gift for all you Doolittle fans. Eliza just dropped a three-track EP containing some very Christmas-y tunes.
My favorite is “Xmas in Bed,” because all I want is … nevermind. Really, though, all three tracks are loverly.
You can download the entire EP here or start streaming now.
Can you ever not be excited for new Foals material? Foals seem dead-on in making Holy Fire, their upcoming album, blended with joy and guitar-packing spirits.
Holy Fire is out February 11, 2013.
