Phoenix’ new album, Bankrupt!, is scheduled to be released on April 23rd, and this is the first full-length track the band has released. Phoenix released their album artwork and tracklist not too long ago but if you’ve been dying to sample their new tunes, you’re finally able to. “Entertainment” is a synth-driven craze yet simple enough to keep us itching for more.
Hoodie Allen is a non-stop music-dropping machine. Seriously, when does the guy ever stop making music? Hoodie dropped the first track (“Cake Boy”) to the Crew Cuts mixtape last week. Today, he’s dropped the music video to “Fame is For Assholes” which has a verse from Chiddy of Chiddy Bang. Any track where Chidera hits on the verse is a dope track.
Crew Cuts is due out on Wednesday.
J. Cole dropped some previews from his sophomore album titled, Yours Truly. These are raw, unfinished tracks but show that Cole is still at the top of the rap game. His single should drop sometime this week. In the meantime, this free EP will serve you well.
Skeme Recently dropped a track that seems that is going to start bringing a buzz his way the track is hot. This will be working out perfectly because he will be performing at Paid Dues 2013.
Peep the song here…
Essex born, New York bred and hypnotically voiced Interpol frontman, Paul Banks played a solo show in Camden, north London last week with support from California based indie band The Neighbourhood and I had the privilege to attend. Banks is known for his haunting vocals and melancholic lyrics and after spending the last year listening to his work with Interpol, I couldn’t wait to see him live, as well as lose my KOKO virginity.
KOKO is a music venue that I’ve been dying
Work has been intense for the past couple of weeks, but this new Carl Barat (former Libertines co-front man with Pete Doherty) demo has just been released (see below) and I had to share my excitement! Listening to War of the Roses has given me high hopes for his forthcoming solo album. With the Babyshambles (Doherty) Vs Dirty Pretty Things (Barat) debate still ongoing and rumors of Doherty also releasing a new solo album, it’ll be interesting to see each individuals successes over the next year. Also this could mean some festival
NY duo MS MR have introduced their first single off Fantasy, their forthcoming debut album and single bearing the same name. “Fantasy” is a very upbeat, catchy and especially exciting song – almost like you’re racing toward fantasy (no more lame jokes for me).
