ETCHES – Ice Cream Dream Machine

“Ice Cream Dream Machine” is an experimental pop track from Liverpool band, ETCHES. The track is the second release  ‘The Charm Offensive’ which came out back on Feb 24th.
The video can be a little creepy or sexy depending on your taste, but goes perfect with the aptly named track.

Travi$ Scott – Drive (The 1975 Remix)

Travi$ Scott - Drive (The 1975 Remix)

Here’s an unusual yet great collaboration: Travi$ Scott and The 1975. The UK’s biggest new band and the Texan rapper teamed up to create a remix for Scott’s “Drive” when they met after The 1975’s Coachella performance. The remix  is a perfect blend of what the two do best and even sound a little like Discovery (Ra Ra Riot and Vampire Weekend).

Check out the remix and download the MP3 for free below.

If there’s one thing you should come to expect once summer hits, it’s that The Knock are sure to put another summer anthem. Neon Gold had been teasing about this track for a while now, and it was definitely worth the wait. The Knocks teamed up with LA’s own Powers (Crista Ru) to smash together this feel-good track.

“Classic” is out digitally August 12th on Big Beat / Neon Gold.

Allison Weiss – “Remember When”

Allison Weiss Remember When

We were up close and personal with Allisson Weiss last year when she performed in the Acoustic Basement at Warped Tour. Since then, we’ve been keeping our ears open for anything Weiss. Allison Weiss has once again partnered up with MTV for the premiere of a brand new track. After releasing “Giving Up” and “Take You Back” through No Sleep Records, Allison has released “Remember When,” a more pop-infused, indie-rock laden track.
As always with anything Allison Weiss, “Remember When” is filled with her signature heartfelt

TheWalkingWho

The Walking Who, a Sydney psych-rock trio, have been making the rounds in support slots with The Growlers, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, The Delta Riggs and the likes but are ready to leap into the foresight of the general music scene. Following their debut EP release in Mansions last September, the band has honed their sound with a brand new single in “With Roses.”

New: Brett – “Golden”

Everything coming out from Neon Gold Records nowadays is a hit. HAIM, Icona Pop, The Knocks, you name it. NGR Calls it a fusion of Empire of the Sun and Passion Pit. I think those folks are forgetting a flavor of their own mix: St. Lucia. “Golden” has that unwavering glaze of 80’s tunes with vocals that’ll make old-time speakers pop out smoke.

AusScene: Appleonia – ‘Lost at Sea’

Appleonia

Appleonia

Jessica Chapnik Kahn has a certain mystique as she glides through life, encrusted with glitter as the spiritual creation of Appleonia. OH! is her first album of her own material, and thanks to Vittoria Coffee, can be downloaded for free here. With each download, its value in food will be donated to OZ Harvest for those in need. Free music equating to charitable free food? What is stopping you?

Single ‘Lost At Sea’ is a highlight from OH! A slice of shimmering indie pop that soars with an unbelievably catchy chorus hook, it reeled me in. The accompanying video depicts an unconventional take on a flash mob in an underground subway station. If you want to have an idea of what my dance moves are like, you must look no further. Like all flash mob videos, it warms my heart to toasty temperatures and makes me want to get groovy in the public domain. Try Appleonia out for yourself below.

Defeater – Letters Home

Defeater

One album I cannot seem to stop listening to lately, although a couple of months late to the game, is Defeater’s Letters Home. It is definitely on my top list of hardcore albums brought in 2013 by a long shot as the vocalist’s passion  and the instrumentalists’ originality work in perfect harmony. The first song of the album,Bastards
