It’s that time of year again. No, not the holiday spirit, but the blogosphere spirit where everyone turns in their top albums of the year list. We’ve never been one to make lists. Hell, we’re not really too deep into the whole “album” spirit. With that in mind, we’ve created a list of some of our top singles of this year. There are obviously plenty others that we love, but most of them are here because we posted about them on the site. Of course we love the Adeles, Florence and The Machines, and Radioheads of the 2011 music year. It’d be crazy not to. Check out some of our favorite tracks of 2011:

M83 – “Midnight City”

Gotye – “Somebody That I Used To Know”

Penguin Prison – “Don’t Fuck With My Money”

Monarchy – “Maybe I’m Crazy”

Keep going, there’s more:

I can’t argue with myself when I say that M83’s “Midnight City” was undoubtedly my favorite song during the summer and maybe even the year. It was love at first listen. And as Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming is set to be released tomorrow, right on cue is the visual for “Midnight City.”

New MP3: M83 – “Midnight City”

Anthony Gonzalez, AKA M83, has released a new song titled “Midnight City”. This release will be in M83 ‘s new album, Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. It’s been a long while since Gonzalez’ last studio release and “Midnight City” doesn’t disappoint.

“Midnight City” starts off with a dark, empowered tune that slowly, but emphatically, delivers a full saxophone feel leaving you with cravings of fire. If that description doesn’t make you want to listen and download, then I don’t know what will.

Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming is the follow-up to 2008’s Saturdays =Youth and
