New Artist: SEMI – “Hurt Me Baby”
From the money making borough of Manhattan, more specifically Harlem, comes Semi. Equipped with aggressive story-telling rhymes, that are laced with slick punch-lines and meaningful content, his flows parallel the identical category of vicious firearm. With his lyrics, he addresses topics that are prominent in his and most people’s lives. By listening to him once, anyone can feel the emotion, ambition and passion in his music. While he mostly performs hip-hop and R&B, Semi can also entertain an alternative or pop audience. Three words he describes his sound with are “Lyrical, Groovy and Smooth.” Writing lyrics since the 6th grade, Semi has come a long way and has nurtured his talent to a professional level. Ironically, because of his appealing sound, many are surprised that to learn that he is actually a reserved and introverted individual.
What I’m really looking forward to from SEMInal is his collab with Chidera of Chiddy Bang. Should be a good one.
