Another track off Peanut Butter & Swelly; this time Chiddy flows over a smooth Xaphoon beat in celebration of having the Guinness world record for the longest freestyle of over 9 hours and 18 minutes. A serious flow deserves some serious props. Peanut Butter & Swelly will be out Friday and we’ll have it here.

I’m not one to listen to much electro because, well, I never got into it. Though, that isn’t to say I don’t know a thing or two about some dope electro. DJ R3hab stopped by Afrojack’s studio back in March to produce this track and now it’s finally out and delivers on this extremely-hyped track. Check it out and support. Chiddy Bang and co. have dropped another track off their Peanut Butter & Swelly mixtape which is due out on Friday. The new track is filled with a melodic flow over a sample of The Knocks. Whenever I listen to music, I like to know the story behind the song. Reason is because we all go through the same things and music helps with coping with any situation. In other words, it helps me understand whatever situation I may go through, but let’s not forget that we also listen to music to get ourselves hyped up for the day. I love their music not because it’s gloomy
There’s no surprise that many rappers release their music on Twitter, but many have followed suit in releasing tracks when they reach a certain number of followers. Xaphoon Jones, Hoodie Allen, and XV have released their share of tracks and it’s not the first time Mac Miller has done the same. For reach 400K Twitter followers, Mac Miller released this new track that samples The Temper Trap’s “Love Lost.” I’m loving this wave of hip-hop sampling indie bands.

Chiddy Bang have kicked off the jelly and added the swelly in this trailer for their highly-anticipated mixtape Peanut Butter & Swelly. It’s only fitting that they name their mixtape that, because, well, they go together like peanut butter and jelly. I’m not one to post teasers or trailers but Chiddy Bang is just pretty much amazing and trailer features a new track off the tape. The mixtape drops May 27th on illRoots.

Breaking Laces is a Brooklyn-based trio who have perfected their music in their latest album, When You Find Out, which came out yesterday. The band consists of lead singer and songwriter Willem Hartong along with bandmates Rob Chojnacki and Seth Masarsky. Having won multiple contests and selling over 40,000 albums, Breaking Laces is setting the bar higher for themselves. There’s something about Breaking Laces’ wildy daring lyrics that proves this band should do just fine in the future. As for this album, nothing sticks out more to me than the band’s resonance of almost symphonic-like tune varied among a unique down-to-earth type feeling that carries the album to greater enjoyment.
Did that make sense? No? Good, because the album jeers in madness from acoustic-pop to a more rock-influenced theme throughout which is surprisingly pleasant to the ears. Listening to the band’s earlier work, I noticed a very similar pattern: they have a hit-’em-hard mindset. Whether it’s to hit you in the heart with their songs about that one girlfriend that you can’t let go in the track “What We Need,” or the rock-heavy tune in “This World.”
