Happy Birthday, Tupac!

Anyone who’s followed the site knows I’m a huge Tupac fan. There’s no surprise I would make a post commemorating the legendary rapper’s 40th birthday. To be honest, I didn’t really want to make a post, if you guys remember, when I listen to Pac it means it’s my “alone time,” my “Fuck off. Leave me in my own world” type of mood. Well, I just wanted to say one quick thing: fuck Dexter Isaac!

I’d rather shy away from talking about Tupac Shakur’s murderer, so happy birthday, Pac.

Fun fact: After learning that Tupac

Furthermore, I apologize for any skipping tracks.

Remember when you met someone new? You probably did what a lot of guys did; You compared yourself with (500) Days of Summer. I’m guilty of doing this, but I know I’m not the only one who has done it either.”Stereo Hearts,” brings the peace and embrace of moving on to that someone new. We all play the fool from time to time, but it feels great to get back on your

Whether you know him as Ralph Folarin, Wale Kemp, Wale Ovechkin, Wale Knievel, or The D.C. Major, Wale RockWilder (My own name for him) is one of the dopest rappers in the game. I’ve been keeping an ear out for the D.C. native since The Mixtape About Nothing came out and have followed every track since. Wale is clearly a very poetic dude who puts every ounce into his music. He’s collaborated with some of the best in the game but his solo tracks remain the greatest. I’ve got more than 100 of his songs, so I wanted to share a few of his tracks with you guys since he’s one of my favorite rappers of all-time. You guys don’t need any more info, so go on with your swell-ass and listen to the tunes.

“I appreciate the lovers, but I appreciate the haters even more.”

For bandwith purposes, I didn’t put every single dope track from Wale. All MP3s here are free. Buy his Attention Deficit or Self Made songs from iTunes or wherever people buy tracks from these days. If you’d like to download all the tracks, check the download link at the bottom.

After A Stressful Day, Lay Low

I’m tired. I’m cranky. I’m stressed. And I’m in love with Lay Low. Lovisa Elisabet, known as Lay Low, is my country idol. Her music is a little country and a little folk. It gets me by these stressful days where I just need to lay low even though country and acoustic  folk aren’t my listening norms.

I first heard of Lay Low more than a year ago and I always make sure to give her music a listen once days get all muffy (I like making up words) like today. “Little by Little” and “Bye Bye Troubles” are my favorite. Usually I like to write a lot when I’m stressed (Check HERE and HERE) but I can’t seem to with Elisa’s folkiness tuning in my hear. Eargasm at its best!

New Track: Bon Iver – Calgary

“I just knew that what I was doing was extremely honest. It was all the things I wanted my music to be.”

Whenever I listen to music, I like to know the story behind the song. Reason is because we all go through the same things and music helps with coping with any situation. In other words, it helps me understand whatever situation I may go through, but let’s not forget that we also listen to music to get ourselves hyped up for the day. I love their music not because it’s gloomy

Dear Mama: Happy Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is here and it’s time to reflect back on all the wonderful things our moms have done for us. There’s almost nothing that my mom hasn’t done for me and I’m grateful for that. My family isn’t the close-family type; we’re more relaxed and go about ourselves most of the time, but we usually get together a few times out of the year. Mother’s Day is that day we all just kind of hang around in the same room together and eat all some of the food my brothers and I bought my mom. It’s funny because my

I Just Want To Dance To . . .

It’s Monday, and for some reason I’m feeling super jolly. Maybe it’s because me and the boys will be seeing Pac Div next weekend or that COACHELLA is only two weeks away! Anyways, all I want to do is dance to the Boys Like Us remix of OK Go’s “White Knuckles.” If you didn’t know, this remix was orchestrated by none other than Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend. The track has been stuck in my head all day, and lately I’ve been wanting to get Dear Song in my Head back

Countdown to Coachella: Lil’ B The BasedGod

It’s been a while since we’ve done a Countdown to Coachella post and I’ve been wanting to write about Lil B for a while now. Some of you may know how much I used to hate Lil B, and I don’t mean just the “he’s a whack rapper” kind of hate. I used to think he should not be allowed near a microphone or on Earth. But, things have changed. I still haven’t listened to a FULL Lil B song but at least I respect this dude’s craziness and his ability to capture his audience and fans even though those people may be crazy.

If you’ve been a casual reader of the site, you would know that I’m a big fan of the Pigeons and Planes music site, and really, me and Confusion have gone back and forth about Lil B’s place in rap. He convinced me to take a listen, and though I’m still not a fan, I actually like Lil B now. He does some crazy ass shit; and his fans envy that. I mean, a fan of Lil B told him that he can fuck his girlfriend. That’s mad love from a fan right there.

Well, I’m actually pretty stoked to see Lil B perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. I may not have my girlfriend to offer him, but I’ll definitely give him my two ears for a full listen of his music. So, if you have yet to listen to Lil B’s music like I have, go ahead and peep the next few tracks. I’ll actually be listening to every track I post. I want to get my Wonton Soup on before Coachella comes about in–holy shit, there’s only–24(!!) days!

First off, check out this vid to see how crazy this dude is. He’s worn the same shoes since forever ago. Apparently, he didn’t want to buy any new shoes until he received a record deal.
