WeFess: YouTube Crush

Gabe BondocIf you can sing, you just got that much more attractive to me. Play an instrument as well? Automatic cool points. You compose your own music and write your own lyrics, too? Marry me.

I stumbled upon Gabe Bondoc on YouTube almost three years ago and it’s amazing to see someone who was already so good, get better. He has mad guitar skills, is a great storyteller through his lyrics, and has such a smooth, versatile voice. He can belt it out or flow just as well, and he never disappoints.

I subscribed for his originals, but his covers are just as enticing. And because of his dope delivery and musical style, I confess, Gabe Bondoc is my official YouTube crush.

Here’s a taste of his lyrical smoothness and storytelling in my favorite original of his called “Sober”:

And yes I know it doesn’t count

When you can barely count

But something bout’ this is real

And sippin’ brings it out

It’s not about the chase

Cause chase we got plenty

I’m wishing this were coke

I’m so tired of sipping henny

I know that I’ma goof

I’m just hiding from the truth

That the woman that I want

Wants me when she’s 80 proof

So I’ll be the best friend

Probably the best man

Always pretending it wasn’t the

drinkin’ because..
