New Artist: Natalie Angiuli — Sometimes. Always. Never
I get a lot of e-mails from musicians wanting me to post their music on the site. I usually try to find something unique about their music, but a lot of times I get bootleg Drake verses or bands that need to master their tracks. This post isn’t about them, though.
The other day I received an email from a Natalie Angiuli. She caught my attention so I took the time to read and listen. She didn’t disappoint.
What first stuck to my head was her songwriting. Then her vocals. Then that indie-pop, folky sound that is so easy to vibe with. Natalie Angiuli combines all those elements to create music actually worth listening to. It’s safe to say, she kicks ass.
The first two tracks that stuck to me where “Hey Little Bluebird” and “The Game.” Natalie had this to say about the tracks on her album:
some songs are “sometimes” songs- those are the songs for the dreamers. some songs are “always” songs- those are the hopeful and blissful songs. some songs are “never” songs- those are the letting go songs. i wonder which is which, and i wonder if we would see eye to eye on this
It’s poetry with a beat.
