WeFess’ First Installment: First Rate People – Funny Games
Welcome to the first installment of Wednesday’s Confessionals. As we all know, Valentine’s Day is on the fourteenth of February. Way to state the obvious, right? Well, I love this “holiday,” but what’s love got to do with it? Nothing. It’s all about the chocolates. Believe it or not, I get more candy and chocolate on Valentine’s Day than Halloween (because I buy and send them to myself). It’s awesome. I’m awesome – be jealous.
Okay, now it’s time to get un-jealous-ed. Because despite all the chocolate and flowers I may receive, I confess, I will most likely spend this Valentine’s Day alone. Yup, while you lovers are busy holding hands, feeding each other and drinking wine at your special dinners, I will be all alone with boxes and boxes of chocolates. Not so awesome.
It’s not as pathetic as it sounds, though. It’s not like I lock myself in my room, dim the lights, spark up some scented candles then listen to Adele while stuffing my face with desserts. Honest!
All kidding aside, I want to share the song that inspired this whole post. It led me to make a playlist for Valentine’s Day. Actually, it’s not really a Valentine’s Day playlist at all, but sort of a list of personal favorites that I made into a mix for Valentine’s Day instead.
I usually prefer to fly solo on Valentine’s Day, but this year I’ve got a date and it involves a pretty long, but nice drive, so I put together some chill tunes for the road to compliment the scenic routes. I hope everyone can find a little something they can relate to and maybe even put it to use for their Valentine’s Day.
Next week, I will be dropping the actual mix that I compiled and will have it up before the fourteenth for your enjoyment!
And this is the song that inspired the whole idea of the trip and mix. This is Funny Games by First Rate People.

Say it was the man in the mirror that you couldn’t escape
How long does it take?
Whatever you want from me
I could turn on the bright lights, then turn ’em back off
Just to prove that I’m still in your life
I could turn on the bright lights
Never know what came
You’re what I know by name
Call everyone else
Tell them how it started
The lights go on
The lights go off
It’s too bright and I can’t see
Whatever you want from me
The Greyhound station it is just around the way from me
Whenever you want any opportunity
