Last week, Two Door Cinema Club dropped a teaser for a song to their upcoming EP. At the time, there was no name to the teaser, but just recently they revealed the name, “Changing of the Seasons. ”

Just a quick tidbit, if you actually searched for the teaser song from a Windows Phone using the baked music search (Search button, then Music Search a la Shazam), then you would have been able to see the song/album artwork (top of this post) and name of the song before it was even announced. I tried doing this with Shazam, but the app didn’t even recognize the song.

So feeling very high on one of my, if not the, favorite bands in recent memory, I couldn’t stop listening to  the teaser. It felt completely more energized than Beacon. Beacon took some time getting used to. It wasn’t as playful, but more mature. Almost like you knew they were evolving, but didn’t want to.

But, wit the teaser; albeit, only 30 seconds long; they mixed in everything that had made them so popular: vocals, guitar, synth, and, most importantly, the soulful lyrics to sing along to.

Just getting back to the original Two Door Cinema Club music and seeing where they’re going is making me a bit nostalgic.  Listening to Kitsune Maison Compilation 7 in 2009 to what they have become now, is the greatest feeling a fan can have.

Now hurry up and get that EP out. “Changing of the Seasons” will be out August 20th but will get its first full airplay today.
