Armors at The Satellite
Now, Armors had a lot to live up to. Since I recently moved from NYC, Armors happened to be the first set I was set to see and photograph in Los Angeles.
But first of all, if you have not yet gone to The Satellite, I highly recommend it. The venue is larger than I expected, but it’s tucked in a quiet neighborhood in Silverlake. You don’t have to worry about fighting for parking or getting gridlocked on your way to a show. The bartenders were nice, made strong drinks and all the music for the night was on point.
Second, Armors is local from Southern California. Checking out their social media beforehand, they seemed to have the calm, cool, classic CA vibe. After seeing them, I realized that they totally do.
Their lead vocalist has a killer falsetto. Think of the voice of Adam Levine but better and quite soothing. I’ve been listening to their song “Parasite” since the show [you can check it out here]. Their alternative style is great to listen to while just chillin’ either at a bar or at home editing photos.
Armors is definitely on my radar. Their songs will get stuck in your head and you can’t help but put them on repeat. So mark your calendars for their upcoming shows. Put them on your radar. Now.
And Armors, thanks for showing me that LA music kicks ass.
