Only 84 days remaining until Coachella and today we have music from Two Door Cinema Club. Two Door Cinema Club consists of four Irish mates (ha, mates) with an electro rock/pop tune. TDCC is easily one of my most favorite bands to listen to. I only have five bands/artists that have their own playlist on my iPod: Tupac, XV, Jack Johnson, Wale, and Two Door Cinema Club; that’s it.

Two Door Cinema Club released their debut album, Tourist History, in April of last year and have been touring the globe non-stop. I was fortunate enough to attend one of their US shows in Los Angeles and it was one of the best nights ever. Along with their debut album, they recorded an EP and altogether, they have only 16 songs. The band is also featured on a few Kitsune Maison (their record label) mixes. I first heard of the band through the Kitsune Maison 7 Minimix. I would post every TDCC song but I’ll leave you guys with my four favorite tracks: “What You Know,” “I Can Talk,” and click for the next page to check out my two non-stop repeat songs; “Undercover Martyn,” and “This Is The Life.”

There isn’t a bigger music event in California than the Coachella Music and Arts Festival. This year’s Coachella event draws big interest from music lovers as it packs some of the biggest names in music headlining the show: Kings of Leon, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, and Kanye West. Other bands and artists set to perform include Interpol, Mumford & Sons, The National, and Eliza Doolittle (I just had to) among others.

You might not know every band or artist playing, so everyday until Coachella (April 15-17), we will be bringing music from one band/artist who will be performing at Coachella. There are 85 days left until Coachella and at least one bad/artist will be covered each day.

For our first Countdown to Coachella post, we have Cut Copy:

Travi$ Scott - Drive (The 1975 Remix)

Here’s an unusual yet great collaboration: Travi$ Scott and The 1975. The UK’s biggest new band and the Texan rapper teamed up to create a remix for Scott’s “Drive” when they met after The 1975’s Coachella performance. The remix  is a perfect blend of what the two do best and even sound a little like Discovery (Ra Ra Riot and Vampire Weekend).

Check out the remix and download the MP3 for free below.

The Culture Collide Festival is undoubtedly one of our favorite music festivals. Apart from the Coachellas of the music festival world, Culture Collide brings in many music acts from all around the world to play in very small, intimate venues and outdoor stages for a three nights of fun.

Last year we witnessed Gold Fields perform three times in about four days and have not stopped listening to them since. Check out the full lineup and daily schedule below.

To enter this contest, simply retweet our tweet, and that’s it. Well, we do need you to follow so we can DM you the information. Good luck and enjoy some great music!

Retweet by Friday, October 4 to be eligible. Remember, we have two pairs two give away so one RT essentially means two entries, or something like that!

Summertime is upon us and for Los Angeles that means heat, traffic, and beach trips. The music scene, though, is fourth. One of the great things about Los Angeles, aside from Dodgers games and fast cars, is the talent this city houses. From Local Natives to Red Hot Chili Peppers, they’re based in LA. The venues hosting some of the very best include The Wiltern, The Music Box, and The Palladium. But most of the time it’s in festivals where they make their name known.

This summer, Los Angeles is host to a slew of festivals. Think about it as Coachella spread out over three months. Everywhere from Downtown LA, Pasadena and even Pomona, there will be a host of free or cheap music festivals. The only thing you’ll ever have to worry about is Los Angeles parking (click for real-time parking info), but that shouldn’t hold you up. Here are some of the best from Southern California in order of which festivals are coming up first.

Rock The BElls

This year’s Rock The Bells lineup includes the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard and rap legend Eazy-E. The two will perform digitally a la Tupac at Coachella. Other artists include Black Hippy, Bone Thugs, Common, Rakim, Talib Kweli, and a host of others.

eliza doolittle

Fresh off premiering their new track at Coachella, Disclosure officially released “You and Me” earlier today in the UK.

“You and Me” brings along Eliza Doolittle providing the vocals that everyone has come to love. The song is similar to many of Disclosure’s previous tracks but may very well be their best yet.

Eliza Doolittle is wrapping up her sophmore album. She recently released a teaser song called, “Don’t Call It Love When It’s Really Life.”
