DSIMH: First time at Warped Tour, excited?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: Yeah, man. This is actually my first time ever coming to Warped Tour. It’s my first time playing it, so I’m really excited—It’s been a lot of fun out here so far.

[column size=”1-2″]
DSIMH: Have you been checking out any bands? If so, who?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: I’ve been checking ‘em out coming and going. But it’s crazy, I thought I would have so much free time on the tour. It’s just like… it’s great. All day you’re just doing stuff. You’re running here to do press, you got to get to the stage at this time, I gotta watch my friend Mod [Sun]play, whom I share a bus with. I gotta do catering. I’ve been running around. I haven’t been able to see as many people as I’d like to. I caught Breathe Carolina yesterday and they were killing. But, you know, it’s a long tour so hopefully by the end of it I get to see everybody.

DSIMH: What city are you most excited to play for?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: I mean, I’m really excited for today, to be honest. I love LA and Southern California in general. So I’m glad we have a couple of shows in the LA area. I’m from Oakland, CA, so I’m really excited to play San Francisco.

[column size=”1-2″]
DSIMH: What are your plans after VWT?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: I’m actually finishing my album on the bus right now. I’m recording, I’m working on it. I did a ton of work on it before I left for tour trying to get as much done as possible because I knew touring would be busy. I’m hoping to get the album out right at the end of Warped Tour, early to mid-August. Then right after the album is out I think I’m going to get back out on the road. It never stops, it never stops.

[column size=”1-2″]
DSIMH: Both your parents heavily influenced the art culture upon you. How do you think that has helped you at as a musician?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: Definitely. Having a sense for beauty and aesthetics and design, and taking me to museums and galleries growing up I feel like I got a little more culture growing up. But, it all piles into who I’m growing up to be as my own person. It’s all the influences that I was surrounded in my upbringing.

[column size=”1-2″]
DSIMH: Who’s the one artist/band from any era that you would absolutely enjoy playing a record with?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: You know, I always say John Lennon. Straight up. I think John Lennon is my all-time favorite, he’s my hero. His voice is amazing. I’d love to have him lay his background harmony parts on top of my tracks and have him sing a hook. He’s the greatest.
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″]
DSIMH: What’s your music playlist like right now?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: I just got a new iPhone and I haven’t put music on it, it’s killing me. Every tiem I sit down to go put some music on it, and I hvaent put anything on it yet. So I got to get on that. Probably the first thing I’ll put on is the whole Beatles discography, then I’ll move to my Johnny Cash then I’ll move onto Jay-Z and Nas. We’ll start there with the basics.
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″]
DSIMH: What are you enjoying most about life right now?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: Man, good shh. Enjoying in my personal life, man, I’m enjoying tour. This is wonderful; this is what we all dream to do. When I got started making music I would dream about the day I would get to tour, get on the bus, meet all these girls and play shows in front of people.
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″]
DSIMH: What’s the biggest festival you would like to play at?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: Well, I have been saying for a long time now that I would desperately love to play at Coachella. I would love to play Coachella this year. If I do, it would be a dream come true. Obviously, I’d love to play at Madison Square Garden, it’s such an iconic place. Even more so, I would love to sell out Webster Hall in New York City. I’ve been infatuated with New York my whole life. I’d love to go there and be able to sell out those iconic-type venues.
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″]
DSIMH: How’s it like performing in New York?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: I’ve performed a couple of times in NY. It’s great. I love playing there. I mean, it’s like one of the greatest cities in the world.
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″]
DSIMH: Lastly, we asked G-Eazy about this attire:
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: Yeah, I’m in my onesie today. It’s like I’m fresh out of jail in the 30s or something in my Jordan 3’s. I just came in simple little black-t. I’m just out here wildin’, man. I’m out here mobbin’. It is what it is.
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″]
DSIMH: Are you a shoe collector?
[/column]
[column size=”1-2″ last=”1″]
G-Eazy: Yeah, I was really into it growing up. Last few years I kind of dipped out of it there’s too much to keep up with. I was pissed off I didn’t get those Yeezy 2’s the other day. I wanted them so bad, but I’m really big into Jordans and stuff.
