Did Curren$y Catch The Right Flight ?
Curren$y, a rapper coming out of New Orleans, has been in the game for quite some time now. From his time in Young Money Cash Money to his appearance in XXL top Freshmen list. In his time in the rap game he has linked up with many artists especially in his mix tapes ( Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean etc.) releasing great songs for people to hear. He has also released albums that have helped him achieve the fan base he has now. Just yesterday he released an album titled The Stoned Immaculate, but is this album enough to push him to the top?
The album does not have the strongest start. The beginning tracks are too mellow, especially for someone like Curren$y. These tracks maybe should have been put toward the middle of the album; most artist put one of their best songs first so they can keep the audience hooked. The album does not have the best start, but is able to make a speedy recovery. As the album goes on it gets better and better. Curren$y does a great job of recovering by putting tracks that are fire. Songs that would please his current fans and attract new ones. He has features that compliment his rapping style. He has hip hop heavyweights like Wale, Two Chainz, Wiz Khalifa , and Pharrell. These features work great with Curren$y because these are rappers that are current and bring more attention to Curren$y.
Curren$y also gives his fans a taste of something he does not usually do. He does a features with singer Estelle which gives this song a small taste of R&B, and this ends up working great for him. Singles of the album that I would recommend checking out would have to be: Armoire, Showroom, Capitol, No Squares, Chasin’ Paper, and Chandelier. Overall the Album is a good album, good album to hear I definitely recommend that you go and buy it. I give it a 8.5/10. So go out and waste the money you have been saving for Detox.
