Dear Mama: Happy Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is here and it’s time to reflect back on all the wonderful things our moms have done for us. There’s almost nothing that my mom hasn’t done for me and I’m grateful for that. My family isn’t the close-family type; we’re more relaxed and go about ourselves most of the time, but we usually get together a few times out of the year. Mother’s Day is that day we all just kind of hang around in the same room together and eat all some of the food my brothers and I bought my mom. It’s funny because my mom isn’t the person to want stuff, and when we give her something, if it’s something she can share, she’ll usually just give it right back to us.
Honestly, I get a little weirded out when I see other families all close and stuff and doing family stuff, I’ve just never experienced that. I’m super cool with that, though. It doesn’t mean me and my family don’t love each other as much; we all know we do, we just choose to express it in a different way. So, when Mother’s Day comes around, we just let my mom sleep because that’s all she wants to do. It’s her day off from EVERYTHING, and we respect that. Her point is: why make a silly day all about her? We all feel like that in our own way, especially when it comes to birthdays since none us give a crap about our birthdays.
Regardless, this post is strictly for all the dope moms out there that keep their heads up and support their family. Shout out to all the moms. Much love. Here’s some Tupac to keep bumpin’ all day:
